Welcome to ToonTurning!

This was done by hand, using just a compass, a pencil, a wood burner and some India ink pens.

This site was the idea of my children, who leading with their hearts, decided that the items I made in my little shop should be shown off to the world.  They were younger then, just starting out on the whole “adulting” thing, but have since (mostly) met their significants, gotten married, had kids, and demonstrated just how wonderful they are, inside and out.  At the time this whole site started, their encouragement was just what I needed to get through a rough patch in life.

What you will find here is a running blog of projects, some pictures of past projects, and some non-turning stuff that will inevitably spill out through my keyboard.  Many of the items I’ve made over the years are cluttering the house, some the kids have claimed, some have been given away to those who would appreciate them, some have been sold and more than a few have been given to charity auctions.

My hope is that if you’re a fellow turner, you’ll see something you like, or something you’d like to imitate, improve, or outright steal.  If you’re not a turner, my hope is you’ll appreciate the work, thought, and technique that goes into creating these items.

If there are any questions, just leave a comment and I’ll answer them as quickly as I can.

Thanks for stopping in!
